The City Council of Manzanares El Real held today a new session of the Local Security Board with the aim of evaluating the security situation of the municipality and coordinating the device for its traditional August festivities.
The meeting was co-chaired by the Subdelegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, and the Mayor of Manzanares El Real, Alicia Gallego Buzón; with the presence of representatives of the Municipal Government team, the Community of Madrid, the Civil Guard, the Local Police and Civil Protection.
During the meeting, the different security resources that will act during the August festivities, also known as Summer Festivities or in honor of the Virgen de las Nieves, which will be held from July 31 to August 3, have been coordinated. The objective is to ensure a safe environment for neighbors and visitors to enjoy the program of celebrations that, among other proposals, includes children's activities, concerts, DJ tents and traditions such as the Boloencierro.
To this end, a reinforcement of the troops of the Civil Guard will be activated, with personnel from both the Company and the Command. These officers will work in close coordination with the Local Police on surveillance and prevention tasks, with special attention to the main events and locations.
During the session, the evolution of citizen security in the municipality has also been addressed. With a crime rate of 33.3 points in March 2026, Manzanares El Real is positioned up to 20 points below the average recorded in the Community of Madrid as a whole.
