The Government delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín Aguirre, has co-chaired with the Mayor of Navalcarnero, José Luis Adell Fernández, the Local Security Board in which the special security plan for the 2026 Patron Saint Festivities has been coordinated.
The device will be active between Friday, August 28 and Sunday, September 13 to cover the days of pre-sales and the central days with the official start from September 4. The main performances will be concentrated in the key points of the municipality such as the Plaza de Segovia, the historical route of the urban center, the Plaza de Toros, the Youth Area and the main access roads to the center of the town.
In order to guarantee the safety of neighbors and visitors, the operation will have a reinforcement of Municipal Police forces that will work in close collaboration with the Civil Guard and Civil Protection and Emergency teams. It will also have the private security support and air surveillance service through drone.
The largest number of troops will coincide with those events in which the largest influx of people is expected, such as the mobile nightclub in the Youth Area, the Golden Age Market, night concerts and the fireworks show. In addition, additional preventive and control measures will be implemented to ensure the correct development of bullfighting celebrations, with five bulls scheduled from September 9 to 13: three nocturnal and two diurnal.
The government delegate has valued the planning as “an extraordinary work of the Local Police and Civil Protection of Navalcarnero that will have the support of the Civil Guard to guarantee the safety and enjoyment of all the neighbors of this municipality.”
Crime rate 16 points lower than the regional average
During the Board – in which representatives of the team of municipal government, Civil Guard, Local Police, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid have also participated – crime indicators have also been analyzed with a positive evolution in the situation of citizen security.
In the words of Martín Aguirre, the indicators confirm how Navalcarnero “develops very positively in the reduction of criminality within the context of the Community of Madrid that also develops positively in the reduction and that led in 2025 to reach the historical minimum figures of criminality in our region. Navalcarnero remains more than 16 points below the crime rate in the Community of Madrid and we will continue working to maintain that dynamic.”
