The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Olimpia López, presided today in Burela, together with the mayor, Carmela López, the Xunta Local de Seguridad convened with the objective of coordinating the special device of the Patron Saint Festivities and the events that take place during the summer period.
In the meeting, the situation of citizen security in the city council was addressed and the planned operation to guarantee security during the Patron Saint Festivities was analyzed, which will have the participation and coordination of the Civil Guard, the Traffic subsector, the Autonomous Police and the Local Police.
In addition, the subdelegate highlighted the Government’s commitment to prevention and awareness through the operational plans of the Secretary of State for Security. In particular, he highlighted the development of the Master Plan for the Coexistence and Advancement of Security in the educational centers, giving 52 conferences and a media exhibition in the course 2025/2026 the request of the centers themselves.
Olimpia López valued the cooperation between administrations and the coordinated work of the security forces and bodies as key elements to guarantee both the security of the major events and the tranquility in the daily life of the citizens.
