· In the Community of Madrid, there will be 325 new agents who will serve in the 60 posts and other protection and security units that the Civil Guard deploys in the region.
· The presence in territorial citizen security units throughout the country is reinforced, where the civil guard students will develop, for 40 weeks, practices to finish their training.
· A total of 874 of these students will complement their practices by performing services in specialties such as Traffic, Reserve and Security Grouping, Fiscal, or the Maritime Service.
A total of 3,123 trainee guards have joined different territorial citizen security units since June 29, thus initiating the second phase of their training period, after overcoming the entry opposition and an academic period of 40 weeks.

For the delegate of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, Francisco Martín, who attended this morning the presentation of the civil guard students who are taking part in internships in units in the Community of Madrid, this figure “is a continuation of a very significant effort of the Government of Spain with the security of the people of Madrid, in particular with the staff of the National Police and Civil Guard”.
“For the first time, the Community Command of Madrid will exceed 4,000 troops, in total 4,023 agents of the Civil Guard, with 100% coverage of citizen security,” he stressed, which is a record high, fruit of the work carried out in the last eight years. This will allow us to finish 2026 again with a record maximum of National Police and Civil Guard troops in our region. In addition, 2025 recorded the lowest crime rate in the historical series.
The objective is to prioritize the presence of these civil guard students to territorial citizen security units according to operational needs, where they will develop their 40-week internship period to complete their training and acquire the status of professional civil guards.
All these students come from promotions 131st of the Academy of Guards of Baeza and 172nd of the College of Young Guards of Valdemoro.
