José Luis Quintana Álvarez is native to Don Benito where he was born in 1950

He completed Professional Training of Second Degree in Business Administration and carried out a Master in Economic and Financial Management.

He was General Director of Finance and Agricultural Media of the Junta de Extremadura, General Director of Community Agricultural Policy and later Councillor of Agriculture and Environment of the Junta de Extremadura between the years 2003-2007 and Councillor of Formento between the years 2007-2011. He has also been a member of the Ärea de Fomento de la Diputación de Badajoz between 2011-2015 and mayor of Don Benito from 2015 to 2023.

He is married and has two children.
