Héctor Izquierdo Triana, was born in Los Llanos de Aridane, the municipality most affected by the volcano. Son of teachers and grandson of farmers of the Aridane Valley, he has a house in Puerto Naos one of the neighborhoods affected by the gases that prevent them from being inhabited to date. His parents and one of his sisters were living in that neighborhood when the eruption began and have not been able to return to their homes since then.
Hector was the Secretary of State for the Treasury when he was appointed Commissioner of the Government for the Reconstruction of La Palma.

The entrepreneur where he has been Director at Unión Fenosa Gas, Renfe and Votorantim, as well as President of SEGIPSA and the State Tax Administration Agency.
The teacher where she has been a professor at Instituto de Empresa (ie, business school), Deusto and ICADE and
Research: as an author of academic manuals and articles in scientific journals.
