- Updated the operational procedure for coordination and collaboration between the Civil Guard and the Local Police to ensure compliance with judicial measures for the protection of victims of gender violence (VioGen 2).
The Local Security Board of Tres Cantos has met this Wednesday to sign the modification of the operational procedure of coordination and collaboration between Civil Guard and Local Police to ensure compliance with judicial measures of protection to victims of gender violence (VioGen 2).
The update responds to the adequacy of the current procedure to Instruction 1/2025 of the Secretary of State for Security, which implements the new VioGen 2 protocol for the assessment and police management of the level of risk of gender violence and follow-up of cases.
The meeting was co-chaired by the deputy delegate of the Government of Spain to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez; and the mayor of Tres Cantos, Jesús Moreno García. Representatives of the Civil Guard, Local Police, the municipal government team, Civil Protection and the Community of Madrid have also participated.
The Government’s deputy delegate reaffirmed the commitment of the Spanish Government in the fight against gender violence and thanked the City Council for its involvement and determination to improve care for victims. “We have had a very productive meeting in which we have updated the protocol of collaboration between Civil Guard and Municipal Police for the fulfillment of measures of victims of gender violence. It is an update that was planned and we have demonstrated the extraordinary collaboration that the Local Police and the Civil Guard have on this issue.”
For his part, the mayor has valued as “very important this update of the VioGén agreement to continue fighting against the scourge of gender violence.”
Special device for the Patron Festivities of San Juan 2026
On the other hand, the Local Security Board has also addressed the special security and emergency device for the festivities of San Juan that are held from June 18 to 24.
A joint operation of Local Police, Civil Guard and Civil Protection personnel will ensure the safety of neighbors and visitors during the celebration program, with special attention to multitudinous events such as concerts, pyrotechnic shows or the traditional Bonfire of San Juan.
Among the novelties of this year, the exhibition centre will be expanded with the aim of strengthening access control. To optimize prevention and surveillance efforts, agents will also be supported by advanced technology, including the use of drones and video surveillance cameras.
“On the part of the Civil Guard, a robust, powerful reinforcement is going to be made, both on the part of the Post and of Citizen Security of the Command” said Pilar Trinidad. “Both from the City Council and from the Government Delegation, the Civil Guard and Civil Protection, we are putting all the personal, material, technical means, even aerial with drones, to guarantee the greatest security in these festivities” said Jesús Moreno.
In addition, a Violet Point will be operational throughout the week, a safe and awareness-raising space designed to prevent, care for and help victims of any type of sexist aggression or male violence.
