Transport allocates 18.5 million euros to emergency works on the State road network in Madrid affected by the storms

Repair and improvement of firmes

  • The works have begun on the M-40, the A-1 in Lozoyuela and the M-23 and will continue on all affected sections, including the A-3, A-5, A-42, M-11 and M-13, among others.
  • The rehabilitation works will be carried out at night time to minimize the effects on traffic except on the A-1 from kilometer 44, where lane cuts will be made between 08:00 hours and 20:00 hours, except weekends and holidays.
  • The estimated time for the execution of the works is 4 months.

The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has begun emergency work to repair the damage caused by the storm surges and storms registered in December, January and February in the State Road Network in the Community of Madrid. The investment has been estimated at 18.5 million euros.

The works are already underway and consist of the improvement and repair of the firm in different subsections of the following ways:

  • Motorway A-1, from 12.025 km to 99.1 km.
  • Motorway A-3, from kilometer 5.6 to 70.69.
  • Motorway A-5, from 12.05 km to 35.75 km.
  • Motorway A-42, from kilometer 4.3 to 30.53.
  • Motorway A-6, from kilometer 21.2 to 39.4.
  • Motorway M-40, from kilometer 0.5 to 37.7.
  • Motorway M-11, from kilometer 2.27 to 8.8.
  • Motorway M-13, from kilometer 0.15 to 1.7.
  • Motorway M-14, from kilometer 0.35 to 1.95.
  • Motorway M-21, from kilometer 1.9 to 5.3.
  • Motorway M-23, from kilometer 0.35 to 2.65.
  • Route N-320, from kilometer 317,025 to 332,9.
  • Ramal A-5R, from kilometer 1.25 to 2.45.

In the city of Madrid the following streets of Ciudad Universitaria are affected:

  • C/ Dr. Jiménez Díaz.
  • C/ Gregorio del Amo.
  • C/ John XXIII.
  • C/ Ramiro de Maeztu.
  • C/ José Antonio Novais.
  • Avda. Complutense.
  • C/ Professor Aranguren.
  • C/ Eduardo Saavedra.
  • C/ Painter El Greco.
  • C/ Architect López Otero

The rehabilitation work will be carried out at night to minimize the effects on traffic, except on the A-1 from kilometer 44, where lane cuts will be made between 08:00 hours and 20:00 hours.

There will be no affectations on weekends or public holidays.

The estimated time for the execution of the works is 4 months.
