The State Secretariat for Democratic Memory is the highest body responsible for carrying out, under the authority of the head of the Ministry, in addition to the powers conferred on it by article 62 of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, the functions of proposing and developing the Government's policies on the conservation, defense, promotion and dissemination of Democratic Memory by virtue of the principles of truth, justice, reparation and non-repetition.
