- The accumulated data from 2026 reflect a decrease in the number of criminal offenses and an improvement in police effectiveness

The Subdelegate of the Government to the Community of Madrid, Pilar Trinidad Núñez, has today co-chaired the Local Security Board of Guadarrama, together with the mayor of the town, Diosdado Soto Pérez, to analyze the security situation in the municipality and prepare the special devices for the summer.
The meeting - in which representatives of the municipal government team have also participated; Local Police, Civil Guard, Civil Protection and Community of Madrid - has been verified as the accumulated data of 2026 reflect a positive evolution of security compared to the same period of 2025. In particular, the total number of criminal offences has decreased by 0.6%, although the number of offences against property has increased by 2.7%.
In terms of police effectiveness, 43.5% of known criminal offenses have been clarified, which represents an increase of 5.4 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, the crime rate stood at 44.6 in March 2026, which represents a decrease of 2.5 points, being 10 points below the average of the Community of Madrid, according to the Crime Balance of the Secretary of State for Security.
Programming for August
During the Board, the security plan that will be activated in the Festivities in Honor of the Virgin of La Jarosa and in other special events scheduled in August in the town has also been coordinated.
At this point, the necessary actions and reinforcements have been presented according to the programmed acts that will involve, among other measures, access control systems to avoid crowds in the main sites; points of attention to the citizens; and reinforcement of Civil Guard troops in close coordination with the agents of the Municipal Police and the personnel of the Civil Protection Group.
The objective is to guarantee the normal development and optimal safety conditions of the summer program, taking into account, in addition, that during the month of August the population of Guadarrama is substantially increased.
