The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has approved the public information dossier and definitively the project of drawing up short- and medium-term actions for improving the accessibility of public transport on the A-6 motorway between the M-50 (km 21.4) and the Las Matas Sur link (km 25.6), in the municipality of Las Rozas, in the province of Madrid. The announcement of this action, whose estimated base tender budget amounts to 32.3 million euros (VAT included), will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The works are aimed at simplifying the traffic of the service roads to increase the fluidity and regularity of the transit of buses, improving the operation of public transport of travelers who circulate on these roads.
The following actions are proposed:
- Link A-6/M-50 (km 22)
- Execution of a passing section with two lanes of the left service road (entrance to Madrid), running through a structure under the M-5 and continuing with an upper passage above the road that connects the existing roundabouts.
- Remodeling of the connections of the left service road with the right service road of the M-50, with Pablo Neruda Street and with the roundabout existing in that margin.
- Execution of a passing section with a lane of the right service track (exit from Madrid) that joins the transfer from the trunk, crossing through an upper passage above the vial that connects both roundabouts.
- From the street of the Ceudas, the section of the service road is extended to two lanes.
- Service routes (km 22.5 to 24.8)
- Execution of an additional external lane on the left service road (entrance to Madrid) from km 22.5 to 24.8, improving access to the urbanizations and the docks of the bus stops (road, sidewalks to walkways and marquees).
- Two lanes will be maintained on the entire right service track between km 22.7 and 23.7), adding a third braiding lane between the exit and entrance to the A-6, from km 22.9 to 23.8.
- Link to Las Matas (km 25)
- Give continuity to the two lanes of the service path under the oval, once the already executed pergola has been eliminated. The connection to the current rail of the service track that connects to the oval will also be built. The service route will continue under its structures and will pass to the same level as the roundabout located at km 25,2 that gives access to the urban center of Las Matas, for which it will be necessary to proceed to its remodeling. To this end, two new access roads to San José Obrero Street and a new connection road between the oval and the right service road of the A-6 will be executed, crossing over the new access roads to San José Obrero Street through an upper passage structure.
- Follow the left service road that, on the sections of exits and entrances to Marsil Street, has a parallel rail and speed change wedges and, which runs under the oval with two rails until it connects with the branch coming from the oval and the roundabout located at the entrance of Marsil Street. At this point, the route will be improved by eliminating the curve and moving towards the south the incorporation to the trunk of the A-6 from the service road.
- Demolition of the existing walkway at km 25,4 and execution of new to accommodate the increase in capacity of the service roads, adapting the walkways located at km 21,3.
