Rosa Marín de la Peña, Environmental Agent of the Hydrographic Confederation of the Douro, dependent on the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, today stars in the tenth video of the talent acquisition campaign carried out by officials of the General Administration of the State.
Marín studied Biology and a master’s degree in Environment. She worked in an environmental consultancy, but she didn’t like office work. Approving an opposition has allowed him to work on the ground, in the countryside. He values his work, “helping to make river ecosystems and water bodies in the best conditions,” and feels public service as a link between administrations and citizens, “helping people understand how environmental legislation affects them.”
As she explains in the video, she values the professional development that has facilitated her being a civil servant and encourages “to consider public employment as a very good professional outlet”.
The Talent Acquisition campaign is part of the Plan initiated in 2019 by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Service. The aim is to explain to young people the possibilities and opportunities offered by public employment and career development.
The Ministry aims to encourage those people who are aware of the value of public services and their contribution to the citizens to work in the AGE.
Started on April 20th, the campaign shows the testimonies of different employees and public employees who exemplify through their experience the job possibilities offered by the Administration, both in Spain and in official representations abroad.
Younger templates
One of the objectives is to rejuvenate the staff of the staff working in the AGE. At the moment, the average age of public workers is 52 years. Only 12% are under 40 years old and in just over 10 years half of the workforce will be old enough to retire.
Since 2019, the Ministry organizes information days in universities, professional colleges and other education centers. Through them, the image of the AGE as an employer is modernized. In addition, they value the contribution of employees and employees to society, raising awareness about the value of public services and their contribution to citizenship.
