- It will improve and extend the useful life of the current road surface on both roads, ensuring adequate traffic conditions and road safety.
- The action is included within the program of conservation and maintenance of the State Road Network, in which this Ministry has invested about 700 million euros since June 2018 in the Community of Madrid.
The Council of Ministers yesterday authorized the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility to tender for 18 million euros (VAT not included) a works contract for the rehabilitation of the A-5 motorway firm, between km 10 to 36,700 on both roads, as it passed through the towns of Alcorcón, Móstoles and Navalcarnero, in the Community of Madrid.
This action is intended to improve the surface regularity of the current road surface and extend its useful life, ensuring adequate traffic conditions and road safety. This improvement of the pavement in the mentioned section comprises lanes, service roads and links of state competence, through the application of a superficial, and punctually structural rehabilitation, with bituminous mixtures in hot and by milling and replacement techniques of the firm. Thus, the following actions will be carried out:
- Structural rehabilitation by measurement values of deflections and controls: In those sections where these values are not met, the rehabilitation is proposed by a variable depth milling that must go as far as removing the thickness of the layer of mixture of bituminous agglomerate existing and its length, depending on the thickness presented by the controls.
The replacement will be carried out with hot bituminous mixture, in different layers of thickness between 7 and 15 cm applied successively until the total milling thickness is reached.
- Structural rehabilitation in singular areas by recurrent actions: For those areas where previous action has already been taken.
- Rehabilitation due to cracking of firm and poor condition: A rehabilitation consisting of 10 cm milling and hot bituminous mixture replacement is proposed.
- Surface rehabilitation to improve surface characteristics: It is proposed the execution of an extension of 3 cm in the entire width of the surface of the firm (incl. arcenes) with bituminous mixture in hot. This action will be carried out in a total length of 53,344 m on the trunk and in 16,270 m on the service roads, on both roads and throughout the stretch between km 10 and 36,700.
The total renovated area of the project amounts to 693,268 m2 on main roads of the trunk and 185,769 m2 on service roads. As for the links, the action will consist of the renewal of the existing tread layer by a 5 cm milling replacement with hot bituminous mixture.
- It will also be operated on boards, with a milling of 3 cm and subsequent replacement of firm.
- Replacement of horizontal signaling, beaconing, containment systems together of dilatation of the structures and stations of aphore.
- Provisional diversion for the execution of the works and waste management.
This action is added to the works to reduce noise in this same section, recently awarded for 12.16 million euros.
