The Tax Agency has already returned 9,042 million euros to 12,814,000 taxpayers at the end of the 2023 Personal Income Tax (IRPF 2023) declaration campaign, so that, as of yesterday, 78.9% of the requested returns in number and 66.6% in amount have already been paid. The evolution of the returns paid (+6.4% in number and +8.9% in amount) is the result of the increase registered in the taxpayers’ own refund requests. At the end of the campaign, 24,013,000 declarations were submitted, 4.9% more than last year, and of these 67% (16,229,000) with the result to be returned.
Nearly two million statements with personalized assistance
By way of presentation, the ‘Le Llamamos’ telephone preparation plan is once again the main presentation system with personalized assistance, with 1,128,000 statements, 5.4% more than in the previous campaign and 57% of all presentations made with personalized assistance to the taxpayer.
Added to this are the 831,000 statements presented in the offices, 6.6% more than the previous year, so that, together, in the current campaign, almost two million statements have been made with direct and personalized assistance to the taxpayer, which has a double alternative in case of requiring this form of assistance,
With and without travel to a physical office.
Thus, between the attention in offices and the plan 'Le Llamamos' almost two million statements have been made with personalized assistance to the taxpayer, of which about 25% correspond to people over 65 years of age.
Strong growth of presentations with the app
One more year, however, taxpayers continue to file a majority of their statements online, with a total of 22,053,000 through this channel in the campaign that now ends, almost 92% of the total. Of these, more than 21,405,000 have been presented through the Agency’s electronic headquarters, 4.3% more than the previous year, and the remaining 647,000 through the Agency’s mobile application, with a new very intense growth in the year-on-year comparison (+23.3%). Of that total of declarations presented with the ‘app’, 482,000 correspond to presentations ‘in a single click’ and the rest are taxpayers to whom the ‘app’ has derived to the AEAT website to make some modification and have returned to the application to conclude the presentation.
More than 813,000 responses through digital assistance channels
Taxpayers who require individualized assistance are therefore making increasing use of this powerful alternative to face-to-face assistance in offices, as well as the help provided by two digital assistance channels, the 'Virtual Income Assistant' and the 'Income Informer', which in the last campaign have offered taxpayers almost
515,000 answers in natural language to the doubts of the taxpayers through the 'Assistant', and another 260,000 through the 'Informer', with all the information structured by content blocks.
Likewise, taxpayers with more specific or complex doubts have been able to connect with specialists of the Integral Digital Administration (ADI), who have attended more than 38,000 chats (45.7% more than the previous year), and have also counted on the traditional telephone channel of resolution of tax doubts, which during the campaign has attended
More than 2,315,000 calls from different contributor profiles.
23,000 corrections after preventative warnings
One of the novelties of the campaign that now ends is the implementation of preventive notices by letter (in addition to Renta Web and in the ‘app’) to the taxpayer to avoid errors and omissions that may subsequently lead to a possible regularization of the Agency.
In line with the strategy of advancing voluntary compliance by means of preventive notices to avoid errors and omissions in the declaration, these letters were addressed to certain assumptions of taxpayers who had submitted their declaration modifying the information provided by the Agency, in order to assess whether they should
or not to submit a supplementary declaration adapting to the information known to the AEAT.
More than 23,000 taxpayers have rectified their tax return to date after receiving the preventive notice from the Tax Agency, thus avoiding a possible subsequent verification of the Agency, the generation of interests and the imposition of possible sanctions. For these taxpayers, the system itself in Renta Web offers the proposal of complementary with
The data already incorporated.
Wealth Tax
In parallel with the Income Campaign, the corresponding Wealth Tax has also been developed, which should be declared by those taxpayers with a contribution to be paid (after applying the corresponding deductions and bonuses) and also those without a contribution to be paid who last year had assets and rights with a value greater than two million euros. At the end of the campaign, almost 228,000 declarations of Heritage have been counted and the amount to be entered has reached 1,911 million euros.
