Zaragoza.- The government delegate in Aragón, Fernando Beltrán, visited the facilities of the company Metro7 in Pinseque (Zaragoza) this morning. Beltrán has been able to learn, from its managers and accompanied by the mayor of the town, José Ignacio Andrés, the techniques of modular building and sustainable rehabilitation developed by this firm, which works on projects such as Balsas de Ebro Viejo in the Rabal neighborhood of Zaragoza, with an aid of 1.6 million euros of European funds within the framework of the Recovery Plan.
The delegate stressed that the philosophy of Metro7 “aligns with the objectives that PERTE has set for the industrialization of housing of the Government of Spain, which with an investment of 1.3 billion in the next ten years, seeks to accelerate the construction of housing in our country.” Beltrán has recalled that the goal set is to raise 15,000 industrialized homes per year, with a reduction of up to 60% in building times.
For Beltrán, the PERTE will allow “faster, cheaper and more sustainable construction”. On the latter, he has valued the existence in Aragon of companies capable of building with non-polluting and proximity elements, such as wood, which also represents an economic resource for areas of demographic challenge.
For Beltrán, the industrialization of housing, with the public impulse of the Government of Spain, “can respond to the most urgent and immediate demands that Aragón lives, responding to young people and workers in sectors such as automotive or agriculture.”
In this regard, he has affirmed that “all administrations have to be committed”, so he has called on the Government of Aragón “to apply the Housing Law, to limit abusive rents in stressed areas, and to sit with the Ministry to materialize as soon as possible the 182 million euros that could reach Aragón with the proposal of the President of the Government to promote protected housing”.
