The Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Function has launched today through its social media profiles the fourth video of the dissemination campaign with which it intends to attract talent for the General State Administration (AGE).
Today’s testimony is that of Francisco Ferrándiz, official assigned to the Ministry of Justice. A training economist, he entered the public service as an administrative officer and has been able to develop his professional career through internal promotion. He currently serves as Assistant Director-General. Francisco has a hearing impairment and, he highlights, the Administration has given him the opportunity to access those positions that have been best adapted to his circumstances.
The campaign is part of the Talent Acquisition Plan initiated in 2019 by the Ministry. The aim is to explain to young people the possibilities and opportunities offered by public employment and career development.
The Ministry aims to encourage those people who are aware of the value of public services and their contribution to the citizens to work in the AGE.
The campaign, launched on April 20, shows the testimonies of different employees and public employees who exemplify through their experience the job possibilities offered by the Administration, both in Spain and in official representations abroad.
Younger templates
One of the objectives is to rejuvenate the staff of the staff working in the AGE. At the moment, the average age of public workers is 52 years. Only 12% are under 40 years old and in just over 10 years half of the workforce will be old enough to retire.
Since 2019, the Ministry organizes information days in universities, professional colleges and other education centers. Through them, the image of the AGE as an employer is modernized. In addition, they value the contribution of employees and employees to society, raising awareness about the value of public services and their contribution to citizenship.
On April 15, the Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Service, Miquel Iceta, presided over the day that was held at the Carlos III University of Madrid, which for the first time was broadcast on the Ministry’s newly launched Twitch channel. This is a new way to bring the messages closer to the youngest ones.
7% booking for people with disabilities
The General Administration of the State has a reserve of 7% of its places for people with disabilities. Specifically, since 2009, a 2% quota has been reserved for people with intellectual disabilities.
At all times, the Administration facilitates the accessibility of people with disabilities and the development of their professional tasks. The posts have been adapted to achieve their full integration, with the elimination of both architectural and functional barriers that are discriminatory towards this group.
