The exhibition «The memory. Emotional journey through the comics of Paco Roca” has been inaugurated by the director of the Cervantes Institute, Luis García Montero; the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Fernando Martínez, and Paco Roca himself, who is also the curator of the show.
The exhibition proposes a structured tour in three parts, each represented through an emotional map and the corresponding work of the author. On the one hand, historical memory, focused on comics such as The Furrows of Chance and The Abyss of Oblivion, where testimonies, injustices, reconstruction of the past or visual memory are addressed.
On the other hand, memory and identity, when from Arrugas memory is approached as a key element in the construction of identity, reflecting the impact of the passage of time and the loss of memories.
Finally, family memory, focused on Return to Eden and The House, in which intimate memories and emotional inheritance are deepened.
The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory and the Cervantes Institute can be visited, free of charge, until September 28 at the headquarters of the Cervantes, in Madrid.
