The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded an amount of 759,400 euros (VAT included), through Adif AV, a contract for the drafting of the construction project of the electrical substation that will be located in Tafalla and that will supply energy for trains to circulate in the section currently under construction between Castejón-Campanas (60 km).
The drafting of the substation project is a boost to the development of this line and the step prior to the tender of the works for its construction. This installation will take electricity from the general electricity grid, adapt it and supply it to the new line. The contract also includes the project of other electrification elements such as self-transformation centers and remote control (to manage real-time and remote electrification).
With this contract, the Ministry continues to make progress in the next phases in the construction of the high-speed route while, in parallel, it works to complete the construction of its platform.
In particular, we are already working on the project to extend the airline of contact Or catenary, the high-voltage cable that transmits to the trains energy to circulate.
Also in progress is the drafting of the project of the track assembly on all tracks, of the construction of an assembly base and of the 3 km link that, in the surroundings of Castejón, will connect this new high-speed track to the conventional network to advance its implementation, while the construction of the rest is completed.
High speed of Navarre
Transportes promotes the development of the high-speed connection of Navarre, the strategic axis of the Atlantic Corridor and its connection with the Mediterranean Corridor: at present, it has completed the construction of two subsections (Castejón-Villafranca and Villafranca-Olite) and advances to finish the rest (Olite-Tafalla and Tafexpo-Campanas) of the total of four in which the platform is structured between Castejón and Campanas.
On the other hand, we are working on the informative study of the railway network of the region of Pamplona that will allow to complete the drafting of the project of the sub-section Campanas-Esquíroz.
These actions contribute to SDGs number 9 (promoting reliable, sustainable and quality infrastructure), 7 (sustainability), 8 (economic growth and job creation) and 11 (sustainable cities).
