The Provincial Director of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, Elena Fernández Treviño, has participated in the international conference EMINENT 2025, organized by European Schoolnet in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD), held on December 11 and 12 in Madrid, at the headquarters of the Official College of Architects of Madrid (COAM).
The presence of the Provincial Director in this European forum has allowed us to get to know first-hand the main lines of debate around the use of artificial intelligence, educational innovation and the digital transformation of educational systems, as well as to share experiences and good practices that are being developed in different countries of the European environment.
During the meeting, Fernández Treviño highlighted the importance of moving towards a pedagogical integration of artificial intelligence that is responsible, effective and adapted to the real needs of educational centers. “Artificial intelligence must be a pedagogical ally at the service of teachers and students’ learning, always from an ethical and educational approach,” he said.
Commitment of the Provincial Directorate
In this context, the Provincial Director has highlighted the work being carried out by the Provincial Directorate of Education, through the Educational Programs Unit (UPE), with specific training programs aimed at teachers for the pedagogical use of artificial intelligence in the classroom. “These training actions, which will be offered again during this school year, reinforce the commitment to teacher training and the continuous improvement of educational practice,” he explained.
Likewise, Fernández Treviño has stressed that these initiatives are complemented by the important technological endowment promoted by the MEFPyD in the Secondary Education institutes, which has allowed the implementation of ATECA classrooms, the implementation of the Classroom of the Future and the provision of digital and robotic technology through the School Code program.
“All this promotes the development of digital, scientific and technological skills of students and prepares schools for the challenges of the 21st century,” he added.
