The new Social Security quota bonus system, which replaces the 50% bonus with a fixed fee of 262 euros, will only apply to recruitments made from today, September 1, 2023.

The Delegate of the Government, Sabrina Moh, on the occasion of the entry into force of Royal Decree Law 1/2023 and Royal Decree 660/2023, which has taken place today, and given that it has been a “controversial” issue, has wanted to clarify, “for the tranquility of the entrepreneurs”, that it will apply “for the contracts that materialize from today”.

“All those who already enjoy the 50% bonus will continue to maintain this advantage and, from the contracts that materialize from today, the Royal Decrees 1/2023 and 660/2023 will apply,” he explained.

“The people hired until August 31 will continue to enjoy the 50% bonus as it has been done until now,” said the top representative of the Government of Spain in our city.

Moh recalled that, from the first moment, the Delegation has held different meetings with social agents, entities and citizens in different forums, to address the various doubts that the new bonus system could entail.

At the same time, he pointed out that, from the Government Delegation “we have maintained the position of dialogue, of maintaining an interlocution, so that they can convey to us all those doubts and concerns that they had and that, we, in turn, could solve them through direct dialogue with the different ministries involved”.

In fact, the Government Delegate has advanced that she will continue to maintain the line of direct communication with regard to this issue and, therefore, has announced that next week she will hold meetings with the business sector to continue explaining these two royal decrees as well as to continue collecting the doubts that entrepreneurs have.

In any case, Moh has recalled that those companies that sign new contracts with workers whose contribution quota is less than 1,800 euros per month will benefit from this new system, since they will receive more money from the State.

As for the companies that formalize new contracts with a quote of more than 1,800 euros, with the new standard, they will not be harmed, since everything that exceeds 262 euros until reaching 50% will be reimbursed through a subsidy.
