Communication of Concentrations and Manifestations

Legally established requirements for communicating demonstrations and concentrations

In accordance with the provisions of article 8 of Organic Law 9/1983 of July 15, regulating the Right of Assembly, “the holding of meetings in places of public transit and demonstrations must be communicated in writing to the corresponding Governmental Authority by the organizers or promoters of the same, at least ten calendar days in advance and a maximum of thirty”, in addition, “when there are extraordinary and serious causes that justify the urgency of the convening and holding of meetings in places of public transit or demonstrations, the communication, [...] may be made at least 24 hours in advance”.

REQUIREMENTS

In the communication will be recorded:

  • Name, surname, address and national identity document of the organizer or organizers, etc. (e-mail address, mobile and landline phone number). In the case of legal persons who communicate this right, their representatives must be perfectly identified.
  • Place, date, time and expected duration of the rally or demonstration.
  • Object of the same.
  • Planned itinerary, when traffic is planned on public roads.
  • Forecast of the number of attendees.
  • Security measures provided by the organizers or requested by the governmental authority.
