- In Seseña it will be studied to reopen the old gate; or, opt for the creation of a new one
- Fuencarral already has a commuter service, but a new station is planned in Fuencarral-Malmea in the face of new urban developments.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has formalized the contract to carry out the feasibility studies to implement four Neighbourhoods’ roadblocks, two of them in Madrid: Seseña and Fuencarral-Norte. The company ARDANUY INGENIERÍA, S.A. will be in charge of carrying out the feasibility studies to establish new stops on the existing sections. The aim is to strengthen mobility and railway connectivity and thus improve social cohesion and contribute to solving mobility problems.
Seseña
The Seseña roadhouse would serve on the C-3 line of Cerca Madrid. In this case, we will analyze both the alternative of reopening the old gate, without service since 2007, and the execution of a new one, which, due to its location, can provide a more adequate service to a municipality with several population centers. In both cases, since the existing line is located outside the urban center, the mobility needs of these centers will be analyzed to give access to the new station.
Fuencarral
As far as the Fuencarral-Norte roadhouse is concerned, it would serve on the C-4 line of Cerca Madrid. Although currently the Fuencarral district already has a Commuter service, a future station is planned in Fuencarral-Malmea which, replacing the existing one, will allow to optimize the passenger service and the railway operation. In this context, the feasibility of having a second station in the environment of Fuencarral-Norte to meet the future demand associated with the planned urban developments will be studied, as well as the possible connection with the Madrid metro line 10 to improve the travel times of Alcobendas and San Sebastián de los Reyes with the center of Madrid.
