- The contract includes the access road to the station, the connection point with the M-408 road and the electricity and telecommunications connections.
- The new Parla Norte station, with an investment of 16.5 million euros, will respond to new urban developments, will give access to the proximity railway to more travelers and will allow connection with other clean means of transport such as the tram.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 2.56 million euros (VAT included), through Adif, the contract for the construction works of the access road to the new Parla Norte station and the connection point with the M-408, which will be located between this road and the Parla Tram line.
The access works from the M-408 will consist of the construction at the level of a ‘T’ intersection, formed by a parallel deceleration rail and a parallel acceleration rail, with two transition wedges. Each lane has a curved branch at the entrance and another one at the exit to the station. The access road will run north from these curved branches, to the southern margin of the Parla Tram Line.
New Parla Norte station
The new Parla Norte station, under construction since February 2024, has an investment of 16.5 million euros. It will serve the C-4 line of Cerca Madrid (Parla-Alcobendas/Colmenar Viejo) and will promote sustainable mobility in the municipality and its area of influence. The project is part of the Madrid Neighbourhood Services Improvement Plan.
Located in the northeast of the municipality, between the stations of Getafe Sector 3 and Parla, the station will respond to new urban developments of the environment and will give access to the railway of urban and interurban proximity to more travelers, reducing the congestion of the current station of Parla. The terminal will also connect to other clean means of transport, such as the tram.
The new station is designed to boost the development of the area. The passenger building has been projected as an urban landmark and an example of sustainable architecture, with an enveloping structure in the form of ribs, which will protect travelers and channel user flows.
The building will consist of a single floor distributed in three parts: central lobby, commercial area for the use of cafeteria and dependencies for the exploitation of the station and attention to the traveler.
The station will have two platforms, covered by canopies, which will reproduce the language and rhythm of the building’s rib structure. The connection between both platforms will be made with an accessible lower passage, equipped with elevators, mechanical stairs and fixed stairs. The design of the platforms and the lower passage have as a priority the accessibility and safety to the travelers.
Parla Norte will have a parking lot for railway use with 60 spaces - also for people with reduced mobility -, recharging points for electric vehicles and spaces for motorcycles. Next to the car park will be the ‘Kiss & Train’ area and reserved areas for taxi, bus and emergency car stops.
The passenger building and parking will be connected through an urbanized area of pedestrian access to the station, enhancing social interaction, accessibility and security. In this pedestrian area, spaces have been reserved for the parking and recharging of bicycles, electric scooters and new mobility systems.
European funding
Construction work on the access road to the new Parla Norte station may be co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
