· The performance consists of the execution of several acoustic screens between the km 12,900 to 17,200, with variable height between 2-6 meters and a total length of 3.9 kilometers.
· The budget of the actions in both municipalities of Madrid is estimated at 11.4 million euros.
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has provisionally approved the project to develop the Phase II Action Plan against Noise on the A-1 motorway as it passes through the municipalities of Madrid and Alcobendas, in order to define the actions necessary to reduce the acoustic impact of this motorway in the Community of Madrid.
Soon, it will be submitted to the public information process, which involves the publication of the corresponding announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
The budget of the actions in both municipalities of Madrid is estimated at 11.4 million euros (VAT included)
Technical characteristics
The planned actions will be carried out in the stretch of the A-1 between the kilometer points 12,900 to 17,200 and aim to reduce noise levels and the population that is affected by it, caused by existing traffic.
These actions consist of the execution of several acoustic screens in the mentioned section, with variable height between 2-6 meters according to the need, being some installed on the right margin and others on the left margin.
In total, 11 new acoustic barriers divided into 34 sections with a total of 3.93 kilometers of acoustic barriers have been proposed. The proposed barrier is a sound-absorbing metal acoustic screen with insulation greater than 24dB and absorption greater than 11dB of 100mm total thickness, composed of sandwich panels formed by modules of galvanized steel sheet, core of rock wool of 10 kg/m³.
Also included in the works is the adaptation of the longitudinal drainage, due to the changes that may be caused by the execution of the new protection elements, as well as the modifications of the existing safety barriers.
Recovery Plan
These actions, which are framed in the Action Plan against Noise (PAR of the 2nd phase), serve to comply with the provisions of Directive 2002/49/EC of 25 June, of the European Parliament and of the Council, on the assessment and management of environmental noise, which establishes a series of objectives including the creation of a common framework for the assessment and management of exposure to environmental noise.
The project is included in the Transformation and Resilience Recovery Plan (PRTR) under Component 6; Investment 2; Project 3: Actions in the Road Network, in the submeasure “Sustainability and energy efficiency and action against noise in the State Road Network”, financed by the European Union funds NextGenerationEU.
