The Council of Ministers approves to allocate 15 M€ to the renovation of employment offices

The Council of Ministers has approved, on the proposal of the Ministry of Labour and Social Economy, the call for grants to finance the renovation of office facilities with staff of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) for a total amount of 15,000,000 euros.

The funds, charged to the budget of expenses of the State Public Employment Service, will be executed in the financial year 2023. In the period 2020-2023, 45,000,000 euros have been invested in the renovation of these facilities.

Grant object

The investment will make it possible to carry out renovation works, adaptation and total or partial repair of the facilities, centres and units of both new and existing employment offices.

The beneficiaries of these subsidies are the autonomous administrations that are entitled or that can acquire the ownership of the employment offices.

The autonomous communities have the responsibility to maintain and renew the employment offices since they hold the ownership of the network based on the transfer of functions and services in the field of work management, employment and vocational training for employment, with its facilities, furniture and equipment. In these spaces, the benefit offices of the State Public Employment Service are also integrated, which contributes to its modernization with the funds distributed in the corresponding calls.
