The Government of Spain, through the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), has benefited almost 50,000 households in Galicia, supporting their welfare with more than 733 million euros. This guarantee for the quality of life in thousands of homes has been implemented since 2020 through the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration.
The average monthly amount of income per household amounts to 516.31 euros for the total of these, which amounts to 33,978 at the present time. In this way, there are today 91,826 people who benefit from the income, which brings the number of people who support this measure of the Government per family unit to 2.7 and increases the average monthly amount per beneficiary to 191.05 euros, more than 20 euros above the national average. The gross amount that is allocated to Galicia each month by the Ministry amounts to more than 19 million euros.
Of the total cumulative number of beneficiaries and beneficiaries, 53,354 are or were minors. The Minimum Vital Income supports its future, deepening in the social shield that the Government develops. Likewise, this income is also a tool for the fight against gender inequality, as 55% of women beneficiaries are women.
Through this income, the Government deepens a more just and egalitarian society, fighting to protect families with minors in charge or, in many cases, those formed by a woman with a minor.
