The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has awarded 8.5 million euros (VAT included) for a service contract for the instrumentation and continuous evaluation of the structural and geotechnical behavior of bridges and singular slopes of the State Road Network (RCE).
The objective is to provide services to the General Directorate of Roads (DGC) of the Ministry for the continuous evaluation of the behavior of certain syncular elements of the RCE, including the provision and installation of instrumental equipment, the obtaining and supply of high-quality data and the monitoring and analysis of engineering.
It aims to improve the knowledge of the state of the bridges and slopes selected, providing these elements with systems that allow the early detection of pathologies. To this end, it is considered essential to obtain data of the highest quality, which create an information base on which to apply advanced concepts of monitoring and interpretation.
The contract is divided into 5 Lots:

Description of the tasks to be performed
- Analysis of documentation and instrumentation procedure: the adjudicator will analyze the annex of specific technical specifications of each of the bridges or slopes to be instrumented. It will also elaborate an instrumentation procedure in which the details of the work it is going to carry out are described.
- Instrumentation. It will consist of at least the following elements:
- Measurement sensors for each of the magnitudes of which data must be supplied with its wiring hoses, connectors, concentration boxes, etc.
- Data acquisition system with the necessary capacity indicated in the annex of specific technical specifications of each structure.
- System of post-processing and reprocessing of information that allows the transformation in real time of the measures obtained in the parameters subject to control (calculated or derived).
- Computer system of on-site visualization and storage, with capacity appropriate to the expected volume of data, equipped with permanent internet connection with data transmission to the monitoring platform of the DGC in real time.
- Integration into the DGC monitoring platform.
- Report of establishment and configuration of the instrumentation
- Obtaining data, transmission and maintenance.
- Continuous monitoring and empirical structural analysis. Monthly report of empirical structural analysis.
- Annual status reports and analyses.
Currently, the DGC has a monitoring platform (https://celosia.es), which is the destination of all the experimental information collected on bridges and slopes.
This contract, whose announcement will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE), is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan financed by the European Union Next Generation EU. It is proposed within the framework of the European resources destined to the Digital Transition.
