The Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Fernando Martínez López, has met today with relatives of people whose mortal remains remain in Cuelgamuros, from the municipalities of Calatayud, Biota, Quinta, Munébrega, Villanueva de Gállego, Borja (Zaragoza), and Espluga de Francoli (Tarragona), after the beginning of exhumations in the crypts of the Cuelgamuros Valley on June 12.
This work of exhumation of the remains of 160 victims of the civil war, precisely carried out there at the request of their relatives, continues to give positive results.
The attendees of the meeting have been informed of the progress in these exhumations in level 2 of the crypt of the Holy Sepulchre, which is where most of the remains of the victims from different towns of Zaragoza and Tarragona are located. They have also been informed of the current paralysis of the work due to the extremely cautious measures adopted by the Central Court of Administrative Litigation No. 11 of Madrid.
