A total of 145 municipalities, with more than 50,000 inhabitants or provincial capitals, will receive grants for 330 projects, within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR), and responding to the first call of the Ministry of Territorial Policy, corresponding to 2021, for digital transformation and modernization of local entities.
The Minister of Territorial Policy and spokeswoman for the Government, Isabel Rodríguez, who has advanced the figures at a press conference in A Coruña, has stressed that this financing aims to “make the State in the territory smarter, to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the closest administrations, speed up the procedures and procedures that we carry out every day with municipal administrations and increase the quality of life of citizens and the quality of public services.”
The total amount of the grants approved today amounts to 89,401,702.51 euros, which represents 96.4% of the maximum amount contemplated in the call and will be financed by the Ministry of Territorial Policy, which will communicate to each of the 145 municipalities the grants that will receive the projects they have presented.
These are the first grants that municipalities with more than 50,000 inhabitants will receive to finance projects in the field of digital transformation within the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan.
