The Government of Spain has granted the Generalitat of Catalonia a total of 37 million euros in aid to alleviate the damage caused by the ‘Gloria’ storm in January of this year and the Isolated Depression in High Levels (DANA) registered in October 2019.
The Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Service, Carolina Darias, and the Minister of Presidency of the Government, Merixell Budó, have signed in Barcelona the agreement that will allow the Ministry to bear 50% of the costs of the rehabilitation projects presented by the local entities and municipalities affected and whose total estimated value amounts to 74.2 million euros.
Thanks to this specific agreement, the Government of Catalonia is also empowered to manage the subsidies themselves, both in their announcement and instruction, as well as in their resolution, payment and control and in the regulation of the corresponding procedures.
