The Joint Commission of the Economic Concert between the State and the Basque Country held today has reached important agreements on the final settlement of the quota corresponding to the 2017 and 2018 financial years, plus the provisional one for 2019. In addition, it has addressed various issues relating to the Budget Stability Act, such as debt and deficit targets,
On behalf of the State, the Minister of Finance, María Jesús Montero, the Secretary of State for Finance, Inés María Bardón, and the Secretary of State for Budgets and Expenditures, María José Gualda, attended. On behalf of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Public Service, the Secretary of State for Territorial Policy and Public Service, Francisco Hernández Spínola, and the Secretary General for Territorial Coordination, Miryam Álvarez, were present.
The agreement signed today provides for the final liquid quota and final financial compensation for the 2017-2018 financial year, amounting to €1,214.2 million and €1,341.1 million, respectively. The provisional liquid quota and provisional financial compensation for the year 2019, which amounts to 1,353 million euros, has also been approved.
The Commission has also established the commitments on the Budgetary Stability objectives of the Basque Country, which will be of budgetary balance for the period 2020-2023.
