New Ministries, Madrid
The event will take place at 12:30 in the Memorial in homage to the Spanish and Spanish deported and deceased in Mauthausen and other concentration camps and to all the victims of Nazism, which is located in the gardens of New Ministries in Madrid.
The tribute will begin with the reading of the "Mauthausen Oath" by the journalist and writer Rosa Montero. This text was signed by the survivors of this concentration camp a few days after their release. In it, they pledged to tell what they had seen and suffered, as well as to fight against injustice and for international solidarity.
After reading this text, Carmen Calvo and the vice-president of Amical de Mauthausen, Concha Díaz, will make a floral offering that will be preceded by interventions of both.
The act will be closed with the interpretation of "The soldiers of the swamp" by the violinist Rocío Cabello.
