- Marisol Garmendia: “With this campaign we want to promote a close and effective administration and we hope that many of the doubts that arise when we plan to travel outside Spain can be cleared”
- Basque citizens will have advice and indications on social networks and on the Delegation’s website on external vaccination and on the steps to be taken when planning a trip
When preparing a trip abroad, whether for work, leisure or other reasons, doubts arise about the requirements and precautions necessary to avoid complications at the destination. The obligation or advisability of vaccination, the necessary documents, what to do in case of illness or accident... For this reason, the Government Delegation in the Basque Country has designed an information campaign that will be launched immediately on its social networks and that can also be consulted on the website of the Government Delegation.

The government delegate, Marisol Garmendia, believes that this campaign will help to improve the information of Basque citizens, in this case about travel abroad. “Our goal is to bring institutions closer to and
Citizens, show them the services we offer and make their lives as easy as possible. With this campaign we want to promote a close and effective Administration and we hope that many of the doubts that arise when we plan to travel outside Spain can be cleared. For example, there are many countries that do not require prior vaccinations and knowing this makes it easier for people to prepare.”
These are informative ‘pills’ that, in a simple and visual way, will inform citizens about various issues when planning a trip. There are six chapters that consist of several slides and that deal with topics such as the sanitary measures to be taken into account according to the chosen destination, precautions to consider on liquids and food, the most appropriate precautions in case of suffering insect bites, the risks that are run in high-altitude areas, the diseases that can be contracted by the contagion of animals or the essential elements that must be contained in our medicine cabinet.
Throughout this week, potential travelers will have this material available on the networks and on the website of the Government Delegation for consultation. You will also find contact details of the different international vaccination offices that the General Administration of the State has in the Basque Country as well as a link to the Ministry of Health where you can expand the necessary information that is needed in each specific case.
