“We demand respect for the institutions and we trust that the rule of law will hold these people accountable for their actions,” says Denis Itxaso
The delegation of the Government of the Basque Country has learned of facts presumed to constitute a crime, by young people who have accessed the headquarters of the Defence Delegation in the Basque Country in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The government delegate, Denis Itxaso, shows his “unmitigated” condemnation of these actions and demands respect for the institutions. “Claims and freedom of expression are protected in this country, but they cannot in any way lead to violent actions and occupation of public buildings, as has happened today. We demand respect for the institutions, especially when it comes to two people who have certain accounts with justice pending.’
Denis Itxaso insists that “We cannot tolerate that those who have committed crimes, those who have violated the rule of law and the most basic rules of coexistence, those who have supported terrorist activities and organizations, behave as if they were heroes. The government delegate concludes by expressing his full confidence that “the rule of law will act with these people in a proportionate manner by holding them accountable for these actions.”
