“The Government of Spain has it clear, education is a bet for that democratic culture that we have to implement through the educational centers and we have right now an extremely powerful tool such as the LOMLOE, which is one of the laws that more than encourages the development of our democratic values of all that has been there.”
The Provincial Director of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports (MEFPyD) in Melilla, Elena Fernández Treviño, in an interview given this lunchtime to the COPE network, has highlighted the importance that the Executive of Pedro Sánchez gives to coeducation, attention to diversity, specialization and professionalization of all educational areas, “so that no one is left behind”.
“Education is a school of opportunities,” he said, since “it is a mechanism of enormous compensation, of opportunities, of freedom, of creation, of learning…”, he said.
On precisely this point, he stressed that, in this objective, he will be with the entire educational community, and that he has the involvement of the schools with their respective management teams, the teachers, the families and the different institutions.
“We have to support all those initiatives, all those programs that are being made now of compensation, so that the students do not lag behind and so that, in the end, we have successful results and we change, better always, those academic results and academic and professional success as well,” he said.
Active listening
Fernández Treviño, who has acknowledged that he has arrived with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm to the Provincial Directorate, said that his almost 25 years of experience as a teacher and his four years at the head of the Ministry of Education will help him in this new stage, since they have given him a “vital and professional experience” that has allowed him to know the reality of teaching, students and schools.
However, she added that she is now immersed in all the internal issues of the Provincial Directorate and the Educational Administration. For this, he has stressed that he is and will be in “active listening” and in collaboration with the MEFPyD team, with the management teams, with the unions, the families… to have “a much more global vision”.
