More than 5,000 people have visited the XIV Educational Exhibition of FP that has been developed at the Hotel Melilla Puerto from Tuesday to yesterday.
More than 3,600 students from the different educational centers of the city have visited the information spaces of the training cycles of the 29 professional families that have been exposed, to which have been added about 2,000 citizens who have also wanted to know the different information stands at first hand.
The Government Delegate, Sabrina Moh, accompanied by the Provincial Director of Education, Juan Ángel Berbel, visited yesterday all the information stands of the sample and spoke with students and teachers of the different professional families and exchanged impressions on the development of training and job expectations.
As explained by the FP Advisor of the Provincial Directorate of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports of Melilla, María del Carmen García Guzmán, this edition has given the collaboration of different families of the different educational centers. “The students of the Medium Degree of Video Disc Jockey and Sound of the CIFP Reina Victoria Eugenia have collaborated with the students of the Higher Degree of Teaching and Socio-Sporting Animation of the IES Enrique Nieto, or the students of the Higher Degree of Clothing Styling of the Miguel Marmolejo School of Art have collaborated with those of the Medium Degree of Hairdressing and Aesthetics of the IES Rusadir”, he has given as an example.
Something that has been done in this edition for the first time, he has pointed out, but that, due to the good results that it has entailed, will increase in the next editions of the Educational Exhibition of FP.
With regard to this XIV Exhibition, he pointed out that, with the slogan ‘Learn by Working’, “we wanted to gather the importance of the company in the new Dual VET, because from the first course a period of training practices in companies is established”, he reported.
“From the first moment, the student will be able to develop not only what is the skill of the job he is going to occupy, but other skills that are transversal, that are needed in the jobs,” he said and has made it clear that, from the first year, the students are in a company, in a real job and registered in Social Security, so “immersion in the labor market occurs from the first moment.”
Something, he said, that enriches the students, given that the company has the opportunity to train future workers according to the reality of the labor market and implies, in turn, that there is much greater coordination between the educational center and the companies, and that the students who leave with their degree of Basic, Middle or Higher Degree are fully prepared to adapt to the labor market.
