Minute of silence over the recent murders of three women for alleged gender-based violence
The workers of the Delegation of the Government of Spain in the Community of Madrid, headed by the delegate, Francisco Martín, have shown their revulsion to the three recent murders of women for alleged gender violence in recent days, keeping a minute of silence at the door of the Delegation. The headquarters staff have been joined on this occasion by Jorge Capa and Antonio Plaza, Mayor and Security Councillor for Improvement of the Field, respectively.
On October 24, the body of a 37-year-old woman, allegedly murdered by her partner, was located in the province of Alicante. On November 2, another 47-year-old woman in the province of Huelva was murdered by her ex-partner. And on November 4, another 49-year-old woman was a victim of her partner in the province of Zaragoza. In all three cases, there were no prior complaints of gender-based violence against the aggressor.
The institutional statement has been read by Inés Represa Cuevas, director of the Area of the High Inspection of Education of the Government Delegation in Madrid. In it they have recalled the communication methods that victims have at their disposal, such as the telephone 016, online consultations through the email address 016-online@igualdad.gob.es, the WhatsApp channel in the number 600 000 016 and online chat, accessible from the website violenciagenero.igualdad.gob.es, which operate 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
