- It seeks to simplify the traffic of the service roads to increase the fluidity and regularity of the transit of buses between the kilometers 21.4 and 25.6.
- The links with the M-50 and Las Matas Sur will be improved and an additional outer lane will be run on the service road to Madrid and a third braiding lane between the exit and entrance to the A-6.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has provisionally approved the project for short- and medium-term actions to improve the accessibility of public transport on the A-6 motorway, between the M-50 (km 21.4) and the Las Matas Sur link (km 25.6). It will soon be submitted to the public information procedure, which involves the publication of the announcement in the Official State Gazette (BOE). The estimated Tender Base Budget amounts to 32.3 million euros, including VAT.
These actions aim to simplify the traffic of the service routes and, consequently, to increase the fluidity and regularity of the bus traffic, improving the operation of the public transport of passengers transiting the service routes. The actions proposed are the following:
Link A-6/M-50 (km 22)
- Execution of a passing section with two lanes of the left service road (entrance to Madrid), running through a structure under the M-50 and continuing with an upper passage above the road connecting the existing roundabouts.
- Remodeling of the connections of the left service road with the right service road of the M-50; with Pablo Neruda Street and with the roundabout existing on that margin.
- Execution of a passing section with a lane of the right service road (exit from Madrid) that joins the transfer from the trunk, crossing through an upper passage above the vial that connects both roundabouts.
- From Calle de las Ceudas, the section of the service road is extended to two lanes.
Actions in service between km 22,500 and 24,800
- Execution of an additional external lane on the left service road (entrance to Madrid) from kilometer 22.5 to 24.8, improving access to the urbanizations and the docks of the bus stops (road, sidewalks to walkways and marquees).
- Two lanes will be maintained on the entire right service track between km 22,700 and 23,700, adding a third braiding lane between the exit and entrance to the A-6 (from km 22,900 to 23,800).
Performances in Liaison of Las Matas (km 25)
- Give continuity to the two lanes of the service path under the oval, once the already executed pergola is eliminated. The connection to the current rail of the service track that connects to the oval will also be built. The service route will continue under the structures of the oval and will pass to the same level as the roundabout located at kilometer 25,250 that gives access to the urban center of Las Matas, for which it will be necessary to proceed to its remodeling. This remodeling will require the execution of two new access vials to San José Obrero Street and the execution of a new connecting vial between the oval and the right service track of the A-6, crossing over the new access vials to San José Obrero Street through an upper passage structure.
- To follow the left service road which, on the sections of exits and entrances to Marsil Street, has a parallel rail and speed change wedges and which runs under the oval with two rails until it connects with the branch coming from the oval. Also in the roundabout located at the entrance of Marsil Street, including an improvement of the route at this point, eliminating the curve and displacing towards the south the incorporation to the trunk of the A-6 from the service road.
- Demolition of the existing walkway at km 25,400 and execution of a new one to accommodate the increase in capacity of the service roads and adaptation of the walkways located between km 21,300 and 23,100.
