- It is proposed to invest 16 million euros in the installation of more than 5 km of acoustic screens distributed over 12 km.
- This milestone leads to the final approval of the construction project.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has definitively approved the route project and the public information file to mitigate the noise of the A-1 as it passes through the municipalities of Fuente del Fresno and San Agustín de Guadalix, in the Community of Madrid.
This milestone makes it possible to move towards the final approval of the construction project. The corresponding announcement will soon be published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
It is planned to invest 16 million euros (VAT included) in the installation of more than 5 kilometers (km) of sound-absorbing acoustic screens along 12 km of the motorway. Specifically between km 23.3 and 35.3 of the A-1 distributed in four sections: from km 23.7 to 25.15; from 25.35 to 26.6; from 27.75 to 29.5 and from 34.2 to 35.3.
The proposed screens have an insulation capacity greater than 24 decibels, as well as a noise absorption level of more than 11 decibels. Its thickness is 100 millimetres thick and consists of sandwich panels formed by galvanized steel sheet modules, as well as a 10 kg/m³ core of rock wool.
With regard to its structure, we have preferably opted for the use of deep foundations with piles of 60 cm in diameter and variable length between 10 and 11 meters depending on the height of the screen and the type of terrain. In general, the single pile solution has been used, with the exception of barriers on existing structures. In these cases, the maximum height is 2 meters and either they are anchored to the existing structure itself, or a direct foundation is made so as not to affect it.
The project is included in the actions for the development of the Phase II noise action plan on the A-1 motorway.
