The deputy delegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, today presided over the Xunta of Security convened on the occasion of the celebration of the Ferrol Rally, which will take place on August 22 and 23 and will gather in the city and in the municipalities around thousands of fans and motor fans.
During the meeting, in which members of the “Ferrol Automotive Team” participated, among them, the President, Germán Castrillón, the Mayor of Irixoa, José Ángel Roca, the Councilor for Security of Ferrol, Carmen Pieltain, as well as commanders and representatives of the National Police, the Civil Guard, the Civil Traffic Guard and the Local Police of Ferrol, among others, María Rivas transferred the commitment of the Subdelegation of the Government and the whole of the Forces and State Security to be developed.
“The Ferrol Rally”, he said, “is a consolidated event in the Galician sports calendar, which attracts about 130 participants and more than 20,000 people from different parts of the community, so we are going to deploy a security operation at the height of the event, with maximum coordination between administrations and security forces so that the only news is the sporting success and the enjoyment of it by pilots and fans”, said the deputy delegate.
María Rivas especially appreciated the work and involvement of the organizing squad and the forces of the National Police, the Civil Guard —including Traffic— and the Local Police, “because we know that ensuring the safety of this type of testing requires an extraordinary effort, especially at this time of year, when the security forces are also dealing with other situations such as forest fire emergencies.”
The Xunta of Security allowed to review and strengthen the protocols of joint action, both at the level of traffic and citizen security, with the participation of police teams, technicians and operational managers of all the bodies involved.
Thus, the specific device will be similar to that of previous editions for its good functioning and will focus on ensuring mobility, risk prevention and response to possible incidents, with the aim of ensuring that the Ferrol Rally 2025 develops normally, safely and with maximum public attendance.
