The subdelegate of the Government in A Coruña, María Rivas, traveled this morning to the concellos of Ponteceso and Camariñas, two of the most affected by the wave of fires that is affecting Galicia in recent days and that were classified as level 2, which is why the Xunta requested the collaboration of the Government.
During his visit, he stressed that “the Government of Spain has all the resources of the State the willingness of Galicia to fight the fires”, and stressed that it is working with full collaboration and coordination with the Xunta de Galicia, the affected concellos and the emergency teams, to ensure an effective, fast and safe action in the control of the fires.
The deputy delegate explained that from the first moment, permanent contact is maintained with the mayors of the affected councillors and with the councillor of Rural Environment and put in value institutional coordination to face a situation of extreme risk, in which she asked the citizens for caution.
María Rivas strongly condemned any behavior related to intentionally provoked fires, remembering that “burning our mountains is not only a crime, but a direct attack on the life, territory and security of thousands of people.”
The subdelegate informed that all the causes of the fires are being investigated and guaranteed that the final consequences will be reached to identify and sanction the perpetrators in case of confirmation of intentionality.
