The subdelegate in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, presented this morning the act of implementation of the concerted electronic recipe of MUFACE in the province, where the first electronic dispensation was made to a Lucense mutualist attached to the concerted option. Isabel Rodríguez stressed that “this advance allows greater comfort, safety and efficiency for medical and pharmaceutical personnel, while reinforcing the Government’s commitment to the modernization of health services.”
The director of the provincial service of MUFACE in Lugo, Noemí Fraga, also participated; the president of the Official College of Pharmacists of Lugo, Alejandro Sánchez; representatives of the insurance companies ADESLAS and ASISA, and the mutualist Manuel Pérez, who collected his medication as the first user of the new system.
Rodríguez recalled that the implementation of the concerted y-prescription “prevents trips to medical consultations, facilitates the follow-up of treatments and reduces bureaucracy, while ensuring the traceability and safety of medicines.” In this regard, he thanked the collaboration of the College of Pharmacists and Doctors to make this initiative of MUFACE possible.
This system, which already works in other communities such as Asturias, Canarias, Navarra or Murcia, allows mutualists of concerted choice to obtain their prescriptions digitally after being prescribed by the doctors of the insurers. Once the prescription is activated, they have ten days to withdraw the drug in the pharmacy, and in the case of chronic treatments they can collect it monthly for up to one year.
In Lugo, more than 6,800 people will benefit from this measure, who from now on will be able to access the medication with the same comfort as the rest of the population.
The subdelegate of the Government in Lugo already presented this measure on July 1 in the Government Delegation in Galicia, in an institutional act with representatives of MUFACE, insurers and Galician professional associations. The implementation of the concerted electronic recipe is a new step in the strategy of the Government of Spain to advance in the digitization of public services, especially in the field of health.
