The Government’s deputy delegate in A Coruña, María Rivas, highlighted in Negreira the Government’s effort for Public Education, which it promotes through scholarships and with Vocational Training as a basis. María Rivas visited the Fair of Professions 2025, which organizes several educational centers of the region in the IES Xulián Magariños de Negreira, together with the mayor of this town, Manuel Ángel Leis.
María Rivas conveyed the commitment of the Government of Spain to education, to educational centers and to families. He took advantage of the space of the Fair of Professions to remind young people and families that the scholarships of the Ministry of Education are available until May 14. This aid is endowed with 2,544 million euros for the next academic year, the highest figure in history, and left in Galicia in the previous period a total of 132 million, which means increasing investment in this item by 59% in eight years.
Not only that, the Government also increased the average amount of the stock exchanges in Galicia by 47%, reaching 2,637 euros on average per family. “It is clear, with all these advances in education, that the Government is with the families, because it knows that the future of this country depends on its youth,” said the deputy delegate.
In addition, María Rivas highlighted the great commitment that the Government is making, with Minister Pilar Alegría at the head, for Vocational Training through its new law. He valued it as one of the most attractive outings for young people today. He stressed that the government is working to make it “the basis of the skilled jobs of the future” and encouraged young people to take an interest in it.
An initiative of great interest
The subdelegate congratulated the centers for this proposal, which seeks to motivate the students with their training and inform them of a decision as important for their future as the choice of studies that they will complete in the coming years and that will give them a profession.
He highlighted the spirit of public service that the action of the Fair of Professions has, since it is not only aimed at young people and young women, but also adults who want to improve their chances of getting into work, using workshops for curriculum development or self-employment, which will take place this afternoon.
He also highlighted the coordination between the organizing centers, the Multilingual IES of Ames and the IES of Brión, as well as the IES Xulián de Magariños, where the contest is held. “That coordination and joint work make a better world, starting with the foundation, which is the studies and the new people,” said Maria Rivas.
The subdelegate also valued the large number of professionals, educational centers of all kinds and institutions that are present at the event, highlighting the presence of the Armed Forces, the Civil Guard and the National Police in it.
