Tui, August 19, 2024.- The subdelegate of the Government in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, supervised in Tui, together with the mayor, Enrique Cabaleiro, the rehabilitation works of the new multipurpose municipal space, located in the Rúa Camilo José Cela. The action is financed with 793,725 euros from the Program to Promote the Rehabilitation of Public Buildings of local entities (Pirep Local) promoted by the Ministry of Transport under the Plan of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience. Losada valued this action as an example of the commitment of the Government of Pedro Sánchez to send European funds to all municipalities to increase services and improve the quality of life of the people.
The investment, which exceeds 900 thousand euros, will allow to improve the envelope of the building, as well as the interior, which will have all the protocols of energy efficiency, with the objective of turning it into a modern and sustainable multipurpose space, of more than 400 square meters. The subdelegate highlighted “the advanced state of a work that will allow to dynamize the life of a City Council that is an example of the good use of the resources of the Recovery Plan to improve the life of all its inhabitants.”
In this regard, the subdelegate recalled that this program also granted 772,000 euros for the rehabilitation of the Main Theater of this town.
During the visit, the subdelegate stressed that in recent years Tui received European funds to boost its tourism, commerce and heritage, among others, “as an example of the Government’s determined commitment to send the funds of the Recovery Plan to each and every one of the municipalities of Pontevedra, with the aim of improving the lives of all Pontevedra, without leaving anyone behind.”
