Pedro Blanco highlights in Forcarei the impact of the Government Recovery Plan in the small municipalities of Galicia

The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, reaffirmed today the alliance of the Government of Pedro Sánchez with the small municipalities of Galicia and the support to local governments in the provision of quality public services, regardless of the size of the municipality. Pedro Blanco reiterated the municipalist commitment to territorial cohesion of the Government in an institutional visit to the City of Forcarei, where he was received by the mayor, Verónica Pichel.
I do not find it reiterated that “we go hand in hand with the municipalities for their digital, energy, sustainable transformation and population attraction through a new economic model”, remembering that through the Deputation of Pontevedra the city of Forcarei received a grant from the IDAE of about 200,000 euros for the replacement of 386 luminaires in the municipal term, favoring energy savings.
On the other hand, he stressed that to “make new technologies available to neighbors and rural companies is a way to cohede territories and for link they have to have good internet coverage.” This respect informed the mayor that within the framework of the different calls of the UNIQUE Plan, Forcarei will add about 1,000 homes/companies with high-speed internet access.
Pedro Blanco stressed that the Government of Spain "is the administration that invests the most in Galician municipalities and will continue to do so thanks also to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan that is reaching every corner of Galicia". In that sense, he insisted on the protagonism of the municipalities within this plan: "We are convinced of the potential of small municipalities and their leading role in the construction of the Galicia of the future, which we want: sustainable, modern, cohesive and with equal opportunities for the entire population."
The delegate finally informed that the Government is working on the drafting of the project to complete the complete asphalting of the stretch between PQ 51 and 68 of the N-541 through Forcarei and Certoto Cotobade. The project will have an investment of 5.8 million euros (VAT included) and will be awarded in the coming months to complete the comprehensive improvement of road safety on this national road, which “how all those of the province and those of Galicia accumulate a huge maintenance deficit since there are more than a decade that we have to solve”.
On the other hand, the repair of the Lérez viaduct in Pedre was completed, with an investment of 1.1 million and Transportes comes to formalize a service contract for 8.73 million euros (VAT included) for the execution of various conservation and exploitation operations on state roads, in the province of Pontevedra.

The government delegate was interested in the initiative of the mayor to complete the improvement of the facilities of the municipal football field, a project with a budget of 535,000 euros for which the City Council is processing different funding channels. Pedro Blanco promised to transfer this action to the Ministry of Education and Sports, in order to study the possibility of accessing State support lines.
