The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, informs that until next February 10, the social entities and provincial councils will be able to request aid for the Digital Rural Challenge program, which has 21 million euros in this call. This aid, called by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge with funds from the Recovery Plan, aims to finance actions for training in digital skills of the population in areas of demographic challenge.
Pedro Blanco highlights the importance of these subsidies as a tool to close the digital divide and improve the digital skills of the most vulnerable groups such as the elderly or unemployed. In addition, it stresses that it “promotes the inclusion and equitable development of the different areas and sectors of Galicia” and encourages all possible beneficiaries to join this initiative. The delegate highlights the opportunity presented by Galicia to host these formations, given that in our community 201 municipalities are municipalities of the demographic challenge.
Through these grants, training programs will be financed that will allow people to acquire basic skills to navigate in the digital environment, carry out procedures with public administrations and solve problems that arise in the digital field.
