The government delegate in Galicia, Pedro Blanco, made an institutional visit today to the Concello de la Coles, where he held a meeting with the mayor of the town, Manuel Rodríguez, with whom he supervised the works of improvement of the sanitation system, which will allow to put an end to the discharges in the municipality.
This work consisted in the construction of a network of collectors in the Sequeiros center that collect the wastewater and lead it to a new pumping well on the Seoane road to then connect with the Ourense sanitation network, which had to expand the capacity of its pipelines to allow the connection of these new discharges with the EDAR.
Pedro Blanco pointed out the need to support the municipalities, especially the smallest ones, in the improvement of their services and infrastructures to stop the loss of population in rural areas and to guarantee their inhabitants a future with equal opportunities for all.
In this line, he reviewed with the mayor other projects in the town, such as the works for the rehabilitation and improvement of energy efficiency through renewables of public buildings such as the sports center, the Casa del Concello or the library, which are executed from the funds of the Recovery Plan.
They also verified the evolution of the work to complete the extension of broadband within the framework of the Government's UNICO Program, which will allow to bring the high-performance Internet connection to 267 families and companies that until now lacked this service in Coles.
