The deputy delegate of the Government in Ourense, Emilio González, presided this morning the act of celebration of the bicentenary of the foundation of the National Police in which he thanked the National Police Corps for “dedication and professionalism with which every day all the personnel of the national police of the province carry out their work with loyalty, commitment and fidelity to preserve the security of the more than 100,000 neighbors of Ourense.
“Your work involves a permanent dedication to the protection of citizens and to guarantee security, public service and humanitarian work, since an important pillar of Democracy that is security depends on you,” said the deputy delegate.
The deputy delegate took the opportunity to highlight and highlight the actions carried out during the last five years in which he is in charge of the subdelegation and placed special emphasis on what they carried out last 2023; “the National Police worked to ensure the security of two electoral processes, dismantled a network of sexual exploitation of women, arrested people involved in sexual abuse, a DNI office was put into operation in the Boat of Valdeorras and that of Verín, arrested people with delusive and aggressive attitudes during the night leisure”.
Emilio González recalled the “clear commitment” of the Government of Spain and the “faithful commitment” of the Ministry of the Interior who in this past 2023 achieved the “historical record” of agents that make up the Security Corps in Galicia exceeding the replacement rate of 100 per 100 with more than 9,000 police personnel in the community and more than 100 agents since 2017 in the province with which not only are they more effective in the national security in the streets, but also ensures to improve the attention to the citizens with services such as the implementation of the DNI Office of the Boat of Valdeorras”.
The deputy delegate also recalled that the Government continues to work across the board to achieve real equality between women and men in the National Police, where a package of positive action measures is being promoted with the aim of obtaining more than 40% of women in promotions of access to the National Police Force by 2030.
