The Government’s deputy delegate in Pontevedra, Abel Losada, celebrated the bicentenary of the National Police Force with the officers of the Vigo-Redonda Police Station today. In his visit he valued “his work and his professionalism” aspects, he said, also recognized by each and every one of the citizens of these localities.
Accompanied by the commissioner, Ramiro Gómez, Abel Losada greeted the troops in service and thanked them for the commitment shown “to make Vigo a very safe city for its people and visitors”.
“The police continue to be – with their daily work on the street – a guarantor of the defense and security of the citizenry,” said the deputy delegate, while highlighting “the capacity of the body to adapt to the new times and the new types of crime such as those that occur in the network.”
Precisely, the subdelegate praised the work of the National Police Force as a value with different perspectives, among which he highlighted the “ethical commitment, to guarantee the security of all without any discrimination due to nationality, race, sex, gender or sexual orientation” and, secondly, security “as an increasingly important economic value in a changing world in which threats are increasingly changing and global.” “It is here that the police demonstrate their ability to adapt to the changing world, with new forms of crime, new risks and threats, and it is here that citizens find the protection to live in freedom,” he added.
