The government delegate, Pedro Blanco, recalled the determined commitment of the Executive of Pedro Sánchez for Galicia and its tourism sector, with the approval by the Council of Ministers of 7.4 million euros for the improvement of energy efficiency and digital skills of its establishments and workers.
Pedro Blanco recalled that the Council of Ministers authorized, this week, the territorial distribution between autonomous communities and autonomous cities of 162 million euros for Energy Efficiency and Circular Economy Projects of Tourism Companies, as well as for the development of a Training Plan in Digital Skills for the Tourism Sector.
No framework of these projects Galicia will receive 7.4 million euros from the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan. Specifically, the Galician autonomous community will receive 4,963.6 billion euros to improve the energy efficiency of up to 36 establishments or facilities of tourism companies. “With these investments, the government aims to increase the competitiveness of our tourism companies through the development of energy efficiency and circular economy projects that contribute to reducing energy costs and the carbon footprint,” explained the delegate.
In addition, the City of Ministers approved the distribution of 2,490,167 euros to Galicia for the development of a Training Plan in Digital Skills for the Tourism Sector for the financial year 2023. The recipients of these training actions, which will last 150 hours, will be SMEs and workers in the tourism sector of Galicia. Globally, 19,350 people are expected to participate before the end of the second quarter of 2026.
Both agreements must be ratified at the Tourism Sectorial Conference and respond to a distribution criterion in relation to the number of tourist employment in each autonomous community and the number of establishments and #room offered by each territory, second are listed in the Hotel Occupancy Survey of 2019.
